CBC MISSION

Our purpose at CBC is to glorify God.

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
all your mind
.” (Matt 22:37)

Our love for God is revealed in our obedience to Him.” (John 14:15)

  • Our primary goal at CBC is to develop mature, growing believers who have a personal relationship
with Jesus Christ, who walk with him and live out the word in their daily lives.

Our Ministry is our service to both God and man, and is one of the primary means by which we carry
out the purposes of the church and the commands of God, and therefore accomplish God’s work.
Ministry takes place when we as Christians, understand God’s foundational truths, are led and
empowered by the Spirit, and then obey His commands.

The Role and Responsibilities of our Pastors and Leaders

  • Our Senior Pastor’s role and commitment is to teach the word of God and be a model disciple, give direction, appoint leaders to specific positions, and train leaders.

  • He should not be expected to perform ministries that other leaders have been appointed to unless absolutely necessary. The role of other staff members or leaders is the same as that of the senior
pastor in that staff member’s area of ministry.

  • The role of our lay leaders is to model discipleship, to grow in their own ministry skills, and to equip
the rest of the congregation for ministry.

  • The role of a CBC church member is to grow as a disciple, to be trained to use his/her gifts, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to minister to the saved and unsaved. The body should always
encourage individuals to be creative, pro-active and to use their gifts for serving the Lord, giving
    resources whenever possible.

  • CBC shall recognize servant gifts as being equally as important as leadership gifts, in building a
    healthy, disciple-producing church.

  • All CBC staff, including teachers, board and all those in leadership positions, are to be growing
disciples committed to the philosophy of ministry.

  • Any leader or prospective leader will be recognized by consideration of character and gifts.

The Philosophy and Purpose of Our Programs

  • The purpose of all our programs is to develop believers and disciples. Programs may be evaluated upon
their effectiveness and modified or discontinued if believed to be non-effective.

  • By making all our ministries warm and accepting of newcomers, the primary function of our worship
services will be true and honest worship of God and his Word.

  • Our music consists mostly of contemporary praise and worship music utilizing a variety of instrument-
ation including acoustic and electric guitars, drums, piano, and keyboards. It is required that all
vocalists and musicians be dedicated to this responsibility by attending rehearsals, learning the music
and their instrument in order to more effectively lead others in worship.

  • Our Sunday school programs are a key outreach for CBC as well as a friendly place for fellowship and teaching.

  • CBC youth programs including Jr. High, Sr. High and AWANA are key outreach programs designed to
reach the unsaved young people of the valley through teaching, Christ centered fellowship activities
    and prayer.

  • Mission support is a vital part of our service here at CBC whether in America or across the world.

  • We will continue our evangelism in specific groups here at CBC as well as continually look for effective
ways to evangelize outside of the church body.

  • The management of each program will be the responsibility of the leader or leaders of that ministry.

  • The primary function of our church board will be to set policies, manage the church operations and keep
all ministries in line with our constitution and philosophy of ministry.

  • The philosophy of ministry can be amended in the same way as our bylaws.
